Cement manufacturing is traditionally resource-intensive and environmentally taxing, Mangal Cement plant has put in place the following sustainability factors to ensure balanced industrial activities with ecological responsibility.
Environmental
- EIA for ongoing natural gas project done to align with climate change. Also, use of about 3km conveyor belt to transport limestone from quarry to reduce Scope 1 emissions.
- Water management by using water from dewatering activities at the quarry for plant use after treatment.
- As a new plant of less than 1 year old environmental compliance with regulations of 100% was easily achieved.
- Waste Management by reducing solid waste to about 91%.
